Dylan Minnette thinks his ‘Scream 5’ character is a “mama’s boy.”
The 25-year-old actor – who performs the position of Wes Hicks within the newest instalment of the spoof-horror franchise – admitted that the character “actually loves and respects his mother”, who’s performed by ‘Grindhouse’ star Marley Shelton.
He mentioned: “I believe Wes is a mama’s boy and he actually loves and respects his mother so he takes her very critically. And I believe he’s attempting to get his mates to take it critically too, as a result of I believe he’s only a actually deeply caring particular person and he cares about his mates, however he doesn’t wish to embarrass himself both, so he’s attempting to stroll this high quality line however he’s a straightforward punching bag.”
His ideas have been echoed by Shelton, who’s returning to the position of sheriff Judy Hicks after being launched to the franchise in ‘Scream 4’ and after receiving a promotion at work learns that Wes is her long-lost son.
She advised Collider: “I believe the obvious dynamic that we established was that Wes is a little bit of a mama’s boy and I’m this overprotective — clearly, I’m a cop — I’m overprotective, overbearing mom bear. And I’m a single mother so I believe I even put extra emphasis on that position of mothering. And so he has to sort of discover his means via that dynamic a little bit bit.”
The movie – which is about 25 years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet city of Woodsboro – sees a brand new killer don the notorious Ghostface masks.
Additionally within the solid are ‘Buddies’ star Courteney Cox and her ex-husband David Arquette who – as ‘Scream’ franchise veterans – make their fifth appearances as on-screen couple Gale Weathers and Dewey Riley.
